CHAPTER 68a

Its 8am in the morning, Tonia was busy supervising the house
cleaners, cleaning her compound when she was told there was a
visitor at gate. Though surprised, she told the gate keeper to allow
the visitor in.
Tonia was surprised to see Victoria approaching her, she wondered
what the problem could be since this is the first time she was
showing up so early in the morning...)
TONIA : Miss Victoria...?
VIC : yes ma. Good morning ma.
TONIA : good morning, hope there's no problem?....(Looking at the
time on her wristwatch)
VIC : at all ma. In fact I brought good news.
TONIA : good news?...should we go inside?
VIC : em...okay. But I have some people waiting for me in the car.
TONIA : you don't want them to come in?
VIC : they definitely will still come in. But we have to talk first. Is
Bolu awake now?
TONIA : em...he should be. He's following Daddy out to get jamb
form.
VIC : Aunty...I just brought Bolu's father.
TONIA : (shocked)...what!
VIC : yes.
TONIA : you mean he's alive...
VIC : very much alive...
TONIA : let's go inside please...(Leading the way)
VIC : okay....(Following her)
(They enter into the house and Tonia calls her husband to join
them...)
PASTOR : (entering into the sitting room)...Miss Victoria...good
morning.
VIC : good morning sir.
PASTOR : is what I'm hearing true?
VIC : yes sir...(She explains how she came across Lekan)
TONIA : then let him come in, you shouldn't have left him out
there..
VIC : yes but, I wanted us to tell Bolu first. I don't know how he's
going to take the News.
PASTOR : that's true...(Turns to his wife)...Honey please call him
TONIA : okay...(Goes to call Bolu and walks back)...he's coming.
He's taking his bath.

(Meanwhile Kurt and Sukanmi are in the car trying to calm Lekan
down. He has been filled with anxiety since he heard the news a
day before. He kept looking at the time....)
KURT : Uncle calm down nau, we're here already.
SK : Jide thank God you drove o, Big Bro would have gotten here in
less than 15mins, all the way from Lagos.
KURT : (laughing)...then by now we would be in heaven...
LEKAN : you people, not me...I won't die before seeing my son,
since he's alive...(Looking at the Allen's gate expecting Victoria to
come out and call them)....what's taking her so long?
SK : (laughing)...Bro, take it easy o.
LEKAN : may be Bolu is not here again? Or may be he has gone to
Lagos looking for me.
KURT : Uncle calm down.
LEKAN : and I told her we should come here yesterday, we should
have just come here straight.
KURT : Uncle, how would we know the place?
LEKAN : she should have just given us the address and we'll locate
it.
KURT : that will be ridiculous Uncle. Just showing up to say, "good
morning, please I'm Bolu's father, where is he?"....no nau...
SK : (laughing)....Bro, you're so funny, just calm down.
LEKAN : (turns to SK)...you, what's funny....(Hisses and looks at
the gate again)...don't you think I should just go inside?
KURT : Uncle, just wait o...
LEKAN : look, let me stand outside...(Opening the door)

Bolu came out of his room surprised to see Miss Victoria, he goes
to hug her...)
BOLU : Miss Vic, good morning.
VIC : how are you dear?
BOLU : I'm alright...but, this one that you came here this morning,
are you traveling or something?
VIC : no Bolu....(Looks at the Pastor to take over the discussion)
PASTOR : Bolu...
BOLU : sir..
PASTOR : come....come sit beside me...
BOLU : (wondering what the problem is, he goes to the
Pastor)...what's going on?....(Looking at all of them)
PASTOR : remember when we went to your primary school, you
told them of the incident that happened to your Mum and sister.
BOLU : yes Daddy.
PASTOR : and Miss Vic promised to look for your Dad.
BOLU : yes...(Looks at Vic)
PASTOR : well, she has fulfilled her promise. She brought your
Dad...
BOLU : (shocked, he looks at Vic)...Miss Vic, you brought my
Dad?...(Stands up walking up to her)
VIC : yes...
BOLU : (cuts in)....my real Dad?
HM : yes...in fact he's outside.
BOLU : but where has he been since all these while? Why didn't he
come for me? Why didn't he....
VIC : (cuts in)...Bolu, your Dad thought you were dead too just like
your sister and Mum. He was so devastated he went abroad. He
didn't even remarry, from all he told me...
BOLU : (cuts in)...where is he? Why didn't he come inside....
(Looking out through the window)
VIC : I'll go and bring him in...(Standing up)
BOLU : I will go with you....(Leaving for the door before Victoria)...
TONIA : haha...Bolu, let him come in nau...
PASTOR : no, let him go...
VIC : Bolu, hold on nau...
BOLU : (going towards the gate)...Miss Vic walk fast nau....
(He gets to the gate first and by then Lekan's anxiety had made
him stand outside the car, facing the gate.
Bolu walks out of the gate looking for any face close to his
father's.
Lekan looks up and bolds Bolu, looking at his face. Kurt also walks
up to him as Sukanmi comes out of the car looking at the figure at
the gate...)
LEKAN : (shouts)...Bolu is that you?!
BOLU : Dad?...(Walking up to his father as Victoria walks out of the
compound)
LEKAN : Boluwatife!...(He hugs his son tightly)...my son...my
son....
BOLU : (hugging Lekan)...Daddy...
LEKAN : thank you God....(Still hugging him)
(Pastor and Mrs Allen also come out of the compound to see the
reunion of father and son. After some few minutes Lekan and Bolu
both look at each other...)
LEKAN : I didn't know you're alive son, I would have looked for
you.
BOLU : its okay Dad...
SK : Bolu....remember me?
LEKAN : remember your Uncle Kanmi?
BOLU : (trying to recall his face)...em...faintly...(Goes to hug him)
SK : wow...you're now a very big boy....
PASTOR : (walks up to Lekan)...good morning Mr Davies...
(Extending a handshake)
LEKAN : good morning sir...(Shaking hands with the Pastor)....you
are the Pastor that has been taking care of my son?
PASTOR : by His grace...please come into the house...with your
guests...
LEKAN : of course, of course...(Looks at Kurt)...Jide, Sukanmi
let's go...
(They all walk into the Allen's residence and were offered
something to eat...)
LEKAN : (talking to Tonia who is about going into the
kitchen)...Ma'am, I'm so filled I can't eat anything. Seeing that I
still have hope has gladden my heart so much...(Turns to Pastor
Allen)...sir, I can't thank you enough for taking care of my son...
PASTOR : oh..its the least we could do. Bolu has been a good
boy...though when he regained his memory, he had some issues
living with us, but well, we were able to over come that...
BOLU : Dad, they treated me like their son...
LEKAN : I really can't thank you enough...
PASTOR : you really don't have to Mr Davies, Bolu is our son...
LEKAN : oh sorry...I forgot to do the introduction...(Pointing)...This
is my Brother in-law, Sukanmi Alder
PASTOR : (extending a handshake)...nice to meet you...
SK : same here sir...thanks for taking care of my sister's son.
LEKAN : and here is Kurt James, he was the one that went to
Bolu's school...he's like a son to me...(Pointing)
KURT : nice to meet you sir...
PASTOR : same here...
LEKAN : em...please sir...when do you think I can take him...I
know...
PASTOR : (cuts in)...oh come on Mr Davies, Bolu is your son,
you're free to take him along whenever you like...its just that we'll
miss him...
TONIA : em...do you really have to take him?....I'll miss my
Bolu....(Going to hold him)
LEKAN : Madam, you don't know how much I av missed him too,
I've not been myself thinking I'd lot everyone in my
family....please, I beg you in the name of God, I know you people
have been the one taking care of him all these while, but please I
beg you, let me take him...I promise you he'll come and say him to
you often.
TONIA : (turns to Bolu)...Bolu do you want to go now? Don't you
have friends to say goodbye to?
