After eating their meal, Stan, Amode and Charles left, while Lekan
asks Kola to wait behind as he talks to him, Bukola and Kurt...)

LEKAN : I want to know exactly what happened with the kidnap, that's
why I asked Kola to wait behind. I heard he was the one that rescued
Bukola...
KURT : yes Uncle.
KOLA : yes...what happened was that...(He explains everything to Lekan)
LEKAN : (turns to Bukola)...so she actually asked those boys to rape you?
BUKOLA : yes sir. She said Jide rejected her because she was raped, so
she wanted me to be raped too, and get pregnant.
LEKAN : (sighs)...I don't know when this girl became so evil...
BUKOLA : Uncle, if you want us to drop the charges against them, I can do ...
LEKAN : (cuts in)...no...I'm only concerned about Ladi...and I wanted
to ask if you two can take care of him...Kurt, remember he's not so
used to his grandmother...
BUKOLA : I've told Jide to bring him here Uncle, but he said he'll be
busy with his plans.
LEKAN : he's still not in school yet. I've told Lara to take him to
Bola's school but I guess she was so engrossed with separating both of
you than putting her son in school...
BUKOLA : we can do that..(Looks at Kurt)
KURT : uncle, I don't know if Lara's Mum will allow us take him.
LEKAN : she has no choice. If Ladi will feel better staying with you
there's nothing she can do....Jide you and I will go there first thing
tomorrow morning...
BUKOLA : I'm available whenever you want to take him to school.
LEKAN : alright.




Immediately Silvia was informed about her husband’s arrest and she
called their Lawyer, asking him to meet her at the station where Andy
had been taken.

She was allowed to see her husband...)

SILVIA : honey how did they know where you were? Did you tell anybody...
ANDY : (cuts in)…it was Imoru.
SILVIA : what? Imoru?
ANDY : yes. He was the one that brought them into the guest house.
SILVIA : Haha...
ANDY : (cuts in)...remember I told Sumon that if he doesn't know who
is at the gate he must not open it. I even told Imoru how to knock...
SILVIA : yes.
ANDY : all of a sudden, I just heard his voice at the door this
morning...only for Amode to enter.
SILVIA : Amode again? What he did on the TV isn't enough?
ANDY : if only you know those that came with him...
SILVIA : the police followed him right? He must have...
ANDY : not the police.
SILVIA : then who?
ANDY : (takes a deep breath)...that useless man that stole my money..
SILVIA : what!
ANDY : that boy Andrew framed with that girl's murder, the one whose
mother was cooking...
SILVIA : (cuts in)...Jesus! Jide?
ANDY : exactly...then, the girl's brother, those two useless lawyers
that I paid to bring that shoe, do you know they fooled me? The shoe
they gave me was fake.
SILVIA : what!...but wait, all of them, how...
ANDY : (cuts in)...they all connived to do this to me.
SILVIA : I don't understand...
ANDY : all of them, all those people I mentioned, they are all the
ones that took their revenge against me...and set me up with my money
o...(Shaking his head)
SILVIA : so, you mean, all this thing was planned and set up with the
money that man stole from you?
ANDY : exactly. The Bastard said something about me making the cook's
son rich with the money I stole. He said he's worth over hundred
billion dollars...
SILVIA : ehn! The cook's son?!
ANDY : that's what Amode said.
SILVIA : my God...I should go and look for him...
ANDY : why?
SILVIA : to demand he returns our money...there's no money to pay the Lawyer...
ANDY : (cuts in)...what do you mean there's no money to pay the Lawyer?
SILVIA : yes. They've frozen your accounts, isn't it?
ANDY : what of all the money I've being sending to your account?
SILVIA : that's what I'll use to take care of my kids...
ANDY : what do you mean your kids? Shouldn't I be more important to
you than your so called kids?
SILVIA : so I should spend all my money on your case?
ANDY : of course! Was I not the one that gave the money to you? I have
sent the kids to school and they are no more kids. They should go and
look for a job.
SILVIA : anyway, the Lawyer is here, you can negotiate with him.
ANDY : sell the house if you have to, just make sure you get me out of here...
SILVIA : ehn?...sell which house? So where will we leave?
ANDY : look woman, I own that house, so do whatever it is to get me
out of here...
SILVIA : I've heard you...well, I'll leave you now so you can talk to
the lawyer...(Standing up)
ANDY : remember to send me food here.
SILVIA : hmm....(Leaving the room)
ANDY : (after Silvia left...) Amode said it was that boy that set me
up...he may actually go for my son o...(Thinking)...I should have told
Silvia to tell Andrew never to come back to Nigeria for any
reason....anyway, there's no need. If I tell her now, with what she
just said, she may just go to the US and leave me here to
rot...(Thinks for a while)...Even Andrew knows he shouldn't find
himself here from what had happened...

(The Lawyer was allowed to speak to Andy, afterwards he joins Silvia
in her car...)

SILVIA : what's his situation like?
LAWYER : it’s going to be very difficult to get him out of this,
Madam...there's the video which shows clearly he committed the crime
and if we try to say he wasn't the one, the most recent one which
shows him admitting to have committed the crime is standing as an
evidence against him.
SILVIA : is there no way you can maneuver the whole thing?
LAWYER : do you know that the man he killed is the Senate President's relative?
SILVIA : (sighs)...so you're saying my husband is going to jail...
LAWYER : I don't think he can escape it...whoever set your husband up,
is very good! He made the whole thing obvious to the masses, thereby
making it difficult for anyone to help him...I don't think you know
the gravity of what is happening to your husband.
SILVIA : but that TV station, can't we sue them for what they did?
LAWYER : (chuckles)...of course you can. But if you do, let me tell
you the truth, it will just be a waste of money because you will lose
the case.
SILVIA : why?
LAWYER : because the freedom of information bill has been passed and
accented to by the Legislature which gives anyone the right to publish
any useful information for the smooth running of all government
affairs. So if you sue them, you're only enriching the lawyer's
pocket, you will lose, especially on a case that is so much against
the law...its murder we're talking about here. Madam look, that video
was on almost every website and blog on the internet. That means
international bodies must have seen it and they will definitely be
watching our judicial system to know what steps we will take.
SILVIA : (sighs)...God of mercy...
LAWYER : all the same, I'll try my best. There's always a way out...
SILVIA : which way is that?
LAWYER : he will have to plead guilty so that...
SILVIA : (cuts in)...plead guilty?
LAWYER : yes. So that his sentence can be reduced...if it was a recent
thing, we would have used the services of a psychologist who will
state that he's not in the right frame of mind or we use the split
personality excuse to help him.
SILVIA : so why can't we?
LAWYER : because after committing the murder, he became a minister and
there's no report to show any case of mental illness then...
SILVIA : can't we falsify one for the past?
LAWYER : it will be useless since he just declared having committed
the crime on the broadcast without any regret or denial.
SILVIA : chai....so my husband is doomed?
LAWYER : well I'm sorry to say this, but I think you just used the
right word....the person that set this whole thing up, got your
husband in a very tight corner where he can't escape....do you by any
chance know who did it?
SILVIA : haha...what do you want to do with that? Is that the most
important thing here now? Who even told you someone planned
it...(Hisses)
LAWYER : madam, with the broadcast? It’s very obvious.
SILVIA : please I have to go and get my husband food...
LAWYER : okay...I'll keep in touch.

(As Silvia drives herself home, she couldn't but think of what her
husband said about those that set him up....)

SILVIA : why is all this happening to us? Why is Abike's son doing
this to my husband?....does he know that he was the reason why he
wasn't tried on time?....I wish I had answers to all this
questions...why are they taking this vengeance on my
husband?...(Suddenly he remembers Andrew)...wait o...I'm sure he's
after my son too....God forbid! He will not see Andrew, thank God
Andrew is in the US, beyond his reach...(Then she remembers Andrew's
visa will soon expire)....I need to call Andrew immediately I get
home...if his visa expires he should go straight to the UK and stay
there till further notice. He must not come here...

(Silvia got home and tried Andrew's number over and over but to no avail...)
