(It’s around 7:30pm, Kurt and Bukola had gone to the spa and had just returned when Lara shows up at Kurt's hotel room unannounced. He was surprised seeing who was at the door...)

KURT : (surprised to see her)...Lara... This night?
LARA : (walking in majestically)...hi Kurt...we need to talk.
KURT : (closing the door behind her)...about?
LARA : (she sees Bukola)...oh I see...the bitch is here...
KURT : (walking towards her) Lara, don't you dare call her such names...
BUKOLA : (chuckles)...I'll take my leave now...(Standing up)
LARA : I will call her whatever I want...
KURT : Lara, don't let me call the security on you.
LARA : you mean you'll call the security to throw me out, all because of this trash?...(Pointing at Bukola)
BUKOLA : I should leave from here...
KURT : Bukola you're going nowhere just yet. She'll have to tell me whatever she wants to say right in front of you.
LARA : eee...(Clapping her hands scornfully)...so it has even come to that...
KURT : look, if you really have something to say, you better do because I'm going to drop her off...(Moving closer to Bukola and holding her)
LARA : hmm...okay. I need Uncle Lekan's number.
KURT : what for?
LARA : haha...what's your own? Can't I talk to him anymore?
KURT : fine, I'll give him your number. He will call you.
LARA : so you can't give me his number?
KURT : he asked me not to give anybody.
LARA : okay...please tell him my Dad wants to speak to him urgently.
KURT : I'll do that.
(Lara gives both of them a disgusting look and starts leaving for the door)...
KURT : and Ladi?
LARA : if you want to know, you'll come over to see him...(She walks out of the room)
BUKOLA : (takes a deep breath)...Jide...
KURT : hmm?
BUKOLA : I don't like the way things are turning out...
KURT : what do you expect me to do? Give her what she wants when I don't have it?
BUKOLA : Jide...(Moves closer to him)...that girl is like that because she fell in love with you, it’s very normal.
KURT : and what am I supposed to do when I don't feel the same way about her?
BUKOLA : (takes a deep breath)...she's becoming really bitter.
KURT : look let's forget about her. Why don't you have dinner here with me before you leave?
BUKOLA : Jide, I promised to see Jordin on my way back, if I have dinner with you, I won't be able to...
KURT : (not liking the sound of that)...are you going to tell me what you'll say?
BUKOLA : no I won't...
KURT : (chuckles)...you want to break up with him before he leaves, right?
BUKOLA : (chuckles)...Jide...it’s not so easy.
KURT : (holding her closely)...Bukola, you and I are crazy about each other, just make this guy understand that.
BUKOLA : it’s not so easy Jide...that guy came all the way here...
KURT : (cuts in)...I'll return all the money he spent and even more...
BUKOLA : and the time?
KURT : hmmm...
BUKOLA : you see, everything is not all about money Jide, stop believing that money can do everything.
KURT : of course I don't...I just want to reduce his regrets, that's all.
BUKOLA : all the same, you have to pity him.

BUKOLA : (laughs mockingly)....is this going to be the first time I will be driving late at night?

KURT : I could wait outside for you, I won't enter into his hotel room...
BUKOLA : ...I know, but thanks...(Leaving)
KURT : what if you call me after you finish so I can drive you home....(Seeing her off)
BUKOLA : no thanks…
KURT : what if I wait for….
BUKOLA : (cuts in)…Jide!
KURT : sorry…(jesting at her)






(After Kurt got back into his hotel, he makes a quick call....)

KURT : hello Uncle...
RECEIVER : how are you?
KURT : I'm fine sir.
RECEIVER : hope there's no problem?
KURT : at all sir. Em....Lara came to me asking for your number.
RECEIVER : why?
KURT : she said her Dad wants to talk to you.
RECEIVER : Tade...
KURT : yes sir...
RECEIVER : is there any problem?
KURT : really, I don't know sir. Should I  give her the num…
RECEIVER : (cuts in)…no, I will call him myself.
KURT : okay sir.
RECEIVER : how's everything going?
KURT : fine sir.
RECEIVER : business?
KURT : good as usual sir.
RECEIVER : alright. Take care.
KURT : you too sir...(Hangs up)




Tade has been into property management after he got married to Nike.

He was at his office the following morning when he received a call from Lekan...)

TADE : it’s so good to hear from you Bro! How have you been?
CALLER : very well thanks...I heard you want to speak to me...what is the problem?
TADE : (surprised)…me? Who said that?
CALLER : well that was what Kurt told me. He said your daughter had come to him demanding for my number for you.
TADE : no o. I never discussed such a thing with her....may be she's the one that wants to speak to you.
CALLER : hmm...okay call me back on this number when you get home, I'll give you a call.
TADE : alright Bro.
CALLER : how's everything with you?
TADE : very fine o, we thank God.




It’s around 8pm, the Aleshs' had a delicious dinner, after which Tade decided to ask Lara about what Lekan had said earlier on....)

TADE : Lara...
LARA : yes Dad?
TADE : why did you tell Bro Lekan that I wanted to talk to him?
LARA : (looks at her mother)...em...
NIKE : (cuts in)...it’s because of Kurt.
TADE : what about Kurt?
NIKE : maybe you should let Lara speak to Bro Lekan herself since he started the whole thing, I'm sure he will have a solution to it.
TADE : okay....(Bringing out his phone to dial Lekan's number, he puts it on speaker phone)...hello Bro...
RECEIVER : let me call you back...
TADE : alright...(Hangs up and Lekan calls back)...hello...
CALLER : yes.... is Lara there?
LARA : yes sir. Good evening sir.
CALLER : how are you?
LARA : fine sir.
CALLER : and Ladi?
LARA : he's fine too sir.
CALLER : alright...is there something you want to discuss with me?
LARA : em...yes sir....(Looks at her parents)..it’s about Kurt...
CALLER : tell me...
LARA : em, sir, after you told him to make sure he takes care of Ladi and I, he is doing quite the opposite.
CALLER : really?
LARA : yes sir...

He should know that if not for Lara and Ladi, he won't be controlling such a huge amount of money. Someone needs to let him know that it’s because of them you gave him all that money. And bringing in another girl into the picture now, is so stupid of him.
CALLER : (takes a deep breath)....I guess you've finished expressing yourselves, right?
NIKE : yes.
CALLER : what of Lara?
LARA : yes sir.
CALLER : and Tade, do you also have anything to say?
TADE : at all.
CALLER : okay....(Takes a deep breath)...Lara?
LARA : sir?
CALLER : can you remember very well the day I begged Kurt to cover up for you?
LARA : yes sir..
CALLER : can you remember exactly what I told him?
LARA : em....
CALLER : (cuts in)....let me remind you...I told him that he should please act like he's your husband so that we can reduce the way people ask you where Ladi's father is. And when Ladi goes to school and his classmates talk about their Dads, he won't feel bad or awkward in their midst, isn't it?
LARA : yes sir.
CALLER : And can you remember what he said?
LARA : he asked if we will actually get married...
CALLER : and what did i say?
LARA : erm...you said no, except we both want to.
CALLER : good. And what did he say?
LARA : he said fine, but that he's only doing this for you.
CALLER : good. Then what did I say next?
LARA : ...I ....I can't remember...
CALLER : I said once he feels he's done enough, I won't force him to continue and he can move on, is that not what I said?
LARA : hmm.
CALLER : I can't hear you.
LARA : y...yes.
CALLER : did I talk about money then?
LARA : em...No.
CALLER : did I say if he doesn't do it I won't give him money or whatever?
LARA : no.
CALLER : so who said it was because of you I transferred the whole money to him?
LARA : em...but Uncle I heard Ladi and I have more rights to the money even more than Kurt does and maybe that's why you gave it to him...
CALLER : says who? Who said you have rights to the money? Did I ever say it was Andrew that gave the money to me? Or did I say it was Andrew's inheritance?
LARA : no sir…(looking at her mother)
CALLER : then who is telling you all that?
LARA : em...(Looks at her mother who winks at her not to say anything)
CALLER : Who even said it is Andy Silva's money? If it was his, why did he try to hide it away from the EFCC?.... My dear, you have no right to that money. Did you hear me?
LARA : y...yes sir.
CALLER : I've used part of it to send you to the university and that's enough. Go and look for a job and get busy. If you won't go back to the US then get a job there in Nigeria and get a school for Ladi. You can take him to Bolu's primary school. Tell them you're from me, they'll take good care of him there. And I'm sure Kurt won't hesitate to pay his school fees, did you hear me?
LARA : yes sir.
CALLER : and as for Kurt and Bukola...Tade?
TADE : yes Bro...
CALLER : didn't you tell them who Bukola is? Did you not explain to them that she's the reason why Jide is free today?
TADE : Bro, I'm just hearing all this now...I have no idea they've being discussing such a trashy issue, if not I wouldn't have called you in the first place.
CALLER : its better you talk to them to let those two be. Jide has been praying all his life to be reunited with her.
TADE : (takes a deep breath)....I will.
CALLER : good. So you all should take care....(He hangs up)
TADE : (looks at Lara and Nike)...what is wrong with you two? So this is why you wanted to talk to Bro Lekan?
NIKE : is it not enough reason?
TADE : and saying Lara has right to the money, what's that?
NIKE : so? Was it not Andrew's father that...
TADE : (cuts in)…shut up!.....(Turns to Lara)...and you, since you knew that that's the kind of agreement between you and Jide...
LARA : (cuts in)...who is Jide?
TADE : (surprised)....so you don't know that Kurt is Jide?
NIKE : (turns to Lara)...that was his name before he changed it to Kurt nau can't you remember?
LARA : I didn't know.
TADE : look here young lady, you better leave him and that girl.
NIKE : what did Bro Lekan mean when he said that girl helped him?
TADE : because she was the one that helped to get the evidence that showed that it was Andrew that killed Carol and not Jide. And that was what the deceased girl's father saw before he asked the governor to give him a state pardon! If not for her....(Turns to Lara)...you wouldn't have known Jide, talk less of having a man to help cover up for you and your son. That girl risked her life to save Jide when she made Andrew and Ken confess.
NIKE : how's that risky? Was it not just a confession?
TADE : oh just a confession abi? What if they had tried to kill her knowing she's the only one that knows their secret?....Don't you know that its thanks to her, both Ken and Andrew can face the consequences of their sins.
NIKE : you mean both boys will still go to jail?
TADE : of course...if he had accepted Lara's pregnancy, perhaps we would have let it go but, no, since he didn't, he will have to pay for his crimes...(Turns to Lara)...so, you just leave them and look for another man....(Leaves them gazing at each other as he goes into his room)

Lara stands up gently and goes to into her room. Nike decided not to say anything till the following day.
