The following day, Bukola resumed work as usual, more like nothing had happened two nights ago. Although, Kurt made sure he got her a bodyguard who poses like a driver.

On getting to her office, she tries to explain her reason for being absent the previous day and was advised to take up the case.

Bukola had just gotten into her office settling down to work when she remembers Jordin again. For the past few days, even before the kidnap, she has been very worried about Jordin, having heard nothing from him for days.

She decided to call his cell phone number but he did not pick up, then she calls up his office...)

BUKOLA : ...hello?
RECEIVER : Lillyhat Constructions, how may I help you, please?
BUKOLA : yes, this is Miss Haastrup speaking, please may I be on to Mr. Hotchkis please?
RECEIVER : hold on a second please....
BUKOLA : alright...(She holds on for some seconds and was connected to Jordin)...
RECEIVER : hello?
BUKOLA : what? Jordin is that you?
RECEIVER : of course.
BUKOLA : oh my God, I can't believe this! You mean you left for the UK without informing me and I've been so worried about you. I even called your cell phone but you weren't...
RECEIVER : (cuts in)...you, worried about me..
BUKOLA : of course!
RECEIVER : why then did it take you so long?
BUKOLA : because I didn't believe you'd leave without seeing me. We were supposed to talk before you left isn't it?
RECEIVER : talk? About?
BUKOLA : (surprised) did you not come to my house asking us to move to the next level? Or was I dreaming about that?
RECEIVER : yeah I did. But you never gave me an answer.
BUKOLA : what! You said you'd give me some few days to think about it...
RECEIVER : (cuts in with a chuckle)...Babe, if you really wanted to stay with me, you'd have given me your answer right there and then. You wouldn't have to think about it.
BUKOLA : (shocked)...what are you saying?
RECEIVER : yes. I only said I'll give you some days to know what you'll say....I mean, it’s just like kneeling before a girl in the restaurant to propose and she says, in front of everyone, "I'll have to think about it"...
BUKOLA : but Jordin this is different...
RECEIVER : no its not. If you really want to be with me, you won't need to think about it...neither will my Mum be a barrier...
BUKOLA : I can't believe you're saying this to me...
RECEIVER : yes I am. That's why I left, giving you the freedom you want...
BUKOLA : did I ever tell you I needed to be freed from you...

(She tries to call his cell phone number, but he did not pick up. She calls Susan)....

RECEIVER : Bukola...hi?
BUKOLA : what's up? Were you able to settle with Stan after what happened yesterday?
RECEIVER : oh well...we finally did after so much pleading...

RECEIVER : what of you and Kurt?
BUKOLA : we settled the whole thing yesterday o...

I don't know why he prefers working as a driver instead of a bouncer...(Hisses)...what's more, he kept following me, even inside my office. I had to send him out.
RECEIVER : (laughing)...I see...so where is he now?
BUKOLA : outside my door o...
RECEIVER : (laughing)...that's what you get when you refuse to get a gatekeeper....(Laughing)





Nike managed to get Lekan's number one way or the other and puts a call through to him. He calls her back immediately...)

NIKE : Bro Lekan, there's fire on the mountain o.
CALLER : what's the problem?
NIKE : it’s that Kurt of a boy. He has managed to get my daughter jailed.
CALLER : what do you mean? How can Kurt get Lara jailed? What did she do?
NIKE : she didn't do anything o. She was just unfortunate to be at the wrong place at the right time.
CALLER : what exactly happened?
NIKE : some people kidnapped that Bukola girl and since my daughter has always being against their relationship, they said she's the one that masterminded it.
CALLER : is that possible.
NIKE : it’s not just possible, it’s happening. Anyway, me, I just called to tell you to warn that boy very well! He doesn't want to know the kind of person I am o. If he does not want to go and join his useless parents where they are, he should just tell them to release my daughter as soon as....
CALLER : (cuts in)...Nike?
NIKE : Bro Lekan.
CALLER : do you know you just threatened someone's life right now and I'm a witness to it?
NIKE : I'm telling you the fact nii...
CALLER : (cuts in)…Nike, do you know that if anything should happen to Kurt now, even if you have nothing to do with it, I have enough evidence to say it was you that did it? Because I'm a witness to your threats.
NIKE : (becomes dumb realizing Lekan is right)...well...I'm just talking out of anger.
CALLER : threatening someone's life out of anger?
NIKE : well, I can't help it. So please tell him to release my daughter...(Hangs up, not caring if Lekan still wants to say anything.

Few minutes later Lekan calls her back but she refused to pick it.)





Amode decided to visit his son at the police station. The moment Januri saw him he goes to hug him tight crying...)

JANU : father...my father....please forgive me....I know I'm asking for too much but I need your forgiveness...(He kneels down before him...)...please Dad..
AMODE : (holding his son and trying to hold the tears from flowing from his eyes)....stand up.
JANU : no, let me be like this Dad....you did everything to save me from this terrible way of life that I chose, but I refused to listen to you...please Dad, I need your forgiveness now...
AMODE : are you saying this because you want me to help you out of here?
JANU : no Dad...(Standing up)...I've realized how stupid I was. I was kept in jail by Andy Silva, the same man that locked you away and deprived me of my fatherly love and care, luckily for me, help did not only come my way, but they also offered to help me go abroad...but I refused to leave, all because of greed...if I had left, I wouldn't have been in this...please forgive me Dad...
AMODE : it’s okay son...I've not seen you since after the day you came back from jail...how have you been?
JANU : up and down....
AMODE : and all this I'm hearing about you and the kidnap, why do you have to...
JANU : Dad, sincerely speaking I didn't know it was that guy's wife.
AMODE : you shouldn't have been involved in any kidnap in the first place, no matter who it is.
JANU : I know Dad. I know I was greedy...and now I have to pay for my sins...
AMODE : you sure will...but who actually asked you people to do the job? Was it really that girl?
JANU : (looks around to see if the policemen were around or listening)...no Dad, it’s not the girl. It was one other guy like that...
AMODE : who is he? What's his name?
JANU : actually, I don't know him, I wasn't the one he contacted. It was Shagy, but I only saw him the night we kidnapped the girl. He came to ensure we got the right person.
AMODE : then why don't you tell the police?
JANU : because Shagy believes he will help us out of here if we don't give him away...
AMODE : and you also think so?
JANU : really, I don't know Dad. I don't know the kind of person he is.
AMODE : hmm....okay. But I'll advise you tell the police the truth....at least what you know...that may help you a little.

AMODE : yes. If you do so, may be Kurt may help you out somehow...

Kurt and Kola proceed to the Achibong's house to see Stan. They were entertained and immediately settled down to talk...)

STAN :  remember I told you I spoke to Dad yesterday...
KURT : ...how is he doing without Mum with him there anymore?
STAN : what can we do?...(Sits up)...you know, it’s so good to know you forgave Mum for what she did to you...
KOLA : (turns to Stan)...wait, wait...your Mum?
STAN : yes...didn't you hear about it?
KOLA : (looks at Kurt then back at Stan)...I didn't hear anything...
KURT : that's because she did nothing.
STAN : (chuckles)...well...my Mum instigated my Dad not to take Jide to court on time so that he can be given the sentence due for a murderer, instead of being taken to the juvenile center.
KOLA : (looks at Kurt)...are you serious?
KURT : Stan...why are you telling this old and unnecessary story?
STAN : because she's one of those that you should have taken your revenge against, yet you didn't.
KURT : come on, she also lost her daughter? It’s just one of those things a parent in agony will do.
STAN : oh come on Kurt, she has being against you even before Carol died, or do you think I didn't get to hear about it?
KOLA : what did she do?
KURT : nothing important Kola...Stan please change the topic.
STAN : (taps Kola)...I'll tell you Kola...(he continues, ignoring Kurt)....when Kurt was in school, my Mum masterminded the whole expulsion thing against Kurt...or Jide. She didn't like the fact that he was from a poor back ground and was hawking on the street, so she instigated some of the parents to vote him out of the school.
KOLA : really...
STAN : yes...that was why she was so much against Jide when Carol died...
KURT : she didn't know I was framed...
STAN : thanks for forgiving her Kurt....
KURT : Stan, please...let's change the topic, all that is in the past now. After all, you her son were still the one that came to help me out...change the topic please...what's happening with Andy?
STAN : (relaxes)...hmm that?....you should see the dailies...it’s all about Andy.
KOLA : and he's still hiding out in his guest house...shouldn't we organize something for him? You know....
KURT : Kola, now you want him to have a heart attack....
STAN : Kurt, remember we all owe him a visit...

KURT : Uncle Charles will be in Lagos my Tomorrow. And he will be representing the old man.
STAN : (starts laughing)...I can't wait to see Andy Silva's face when he gets to find out the whole crew behind his down fall....
KOLA : he'll wish you all will just fall down and die...
KURT : I'll talk to Uncle Lekan.
STAN : even if they all decide to keep quiet, the Senate President won't. You should read what he had to say about the issue. The whole Nigeria Police is now after him. All they need is his location.
KURT : we can work something out....
STAN : (Remembers what he wanted to say initially)....less I forget, we're going to the state house.
KOLA : state house? Why?
STAN : you guys need to go with me so Uncle Akin doesn't have my head. Dad said I should pay him a visit...we need to bring those kidnapper's case to Lagos, we can't keep going to that place...
KOLA : that's true....
