happened with Lisa...)

SEGUN : Bola, you didn't answer me...
BISADE : wait, you've been keeping quiet, not saying anything since.
(Sitting up)...Bola, you are showing too much anger and agitation with
this issue...(Looks at Segun)...and you, why trying to prove to Bola
the fact that Made is not having anything to do with that girl? Is
Made not old enough to have a woman in his life?
SEGUN : Bisade, these young people need what we just did, in order to move on...
BISADE : move on? Move on with what?
SEGUN : (looks at Bola and back at Bisade)...Bisade, allow me have a
chat with Bola...(turns to Made)..Made please excuse us.
MADE : okay sir...(Leaves the office)
BISADE : (looks at Segun who still didn't talk)...or you want me to
excuse you too?
SEGUN : (looks at Bola)...Bola, will that be necessary?
BOLA : Uncle, I'm really confused right now. I need to talk to someone
that can understand me...
SEGUN : do you want your father to excuse us?
BOLA : (looks at Bisade)....no Dad should stay. I have questions to
ask about Made.
SEGUN : okay. (Looks at Bisade)...we're listening....
BOLA : considering the way Made was before, and how he is now, do you
think Made is pretending? (Turns to Bisade)...I mean he grew up with
you Dad....
BISADE : pretending how?....(Seeming confused)...
BOLA : we all know Made was pompous and lazy before now, more like he
was a spoiled brat then. I mean, I knew him then, never working,
always stepping on people's toes...and now he's like... changed...do
you think he's being real?
BISADE : well...if you ask me, I'd say Made can't pretend for that
long. What for?
SEGUN : I don't think anyone can pretend for that long...(Sits up) let
me tell you something...you see, one thing about pretense is that even
if it goes for a long time, once in a while your real self will come
out. For example, Made used to be unruly, that's true, never working
for anything, but the thing is, it wasn't his fault. There's a
difference between training and bringing up a child the right way and
bringing up a child the wrong way. If you bring up a child the wrong
way and later on, he gets to know and believe that the perception he
got to know about life is quite wrong, he or she could change. But
now, if you bring up a child the right or wrong way and the child
chooses to keep to the wrong path of life, then such a child "may"
never change. Made was brought up spoiled, he later got to know what
is right and what should be, when he spent time with his biological
father.
BOLA : hmm....
SEGUN : even your father later regretted the way he brought Made up
when he saw what his real father inculcated into him. So, the way Made
turned out was not Made's fault.
BISADE : moreover, Made was quite young then, when he started becoming
a man, he got to learn more about what life is and should be.
BOLA : so you people are saying Made has really changed?...(Looking at
both of them)
SEGUN : if you ask me, I'd say yes.
BISADE : but wait, why all this questions?
BOLA : Dad, you know Made is in love with me right?
BISADE : (shocked)....and who told you that?
BOLA : Made did...
BISADE : (angry)..just what I needed!...(Hits the table)
SEGUN : (taps Bisade)...come on...let's hear her out before you
criticize them...
BISADE : fine!
BOLA : someone told me Made changed because he knew he wasn't the heir
to your wealth Dad, and that he only put up the changed attitude for
what he wants to get.
SEGUN : (getting angry)...who the hell said that?
BOLA : ....(Sighs)....Femi.
BISADE : (shocked)..Femi again!
SEGUN : wait, what's it with this Femi of a boy? Is he trying to bring
about some sort of confusion or what? And why?
BISADE : what else did he say?
BOLA : the thing is Made has really done some things in the past that
made me doubt his sincerity...
BISADE : look, even though I don't like the fact that Made is in love
with you, I won't hesitate to defend him when its necessary. Made was
really spoiled but he got to find out that his father was an only
child too, spoiled by his parents, and so, while he was busy enjoying
life he had the accident that condemned him to the wheelchair. All the
money his parents left for him was spent on his illness. In fact, if
not for the fact that he impregnated Made's mother, he would have
ended up dying without a child. When he found Made, it pained him that
he couldn't leave anything for Made like his parents did. This, he
thought Made and made him realize that if Made takes his path in life,
he will end up regretting like he did...
SEGUN : the fact that Made even went with him almost immediately told
me something; that deep down inside Made, there is a strong-willed man
dormant, but waiting for the right thing to trigger him. If Made was
really as irresponsible as we all thought, he wouldn't have gone with
his biological father, seeing how poor Julius was...Julius was a
pathetic man...sorry to say, but his condition really showed that...
BISADE : of course, he was bedridden! Not the old Made! He would have
ran away, rejecting the poor man. I was happy he didn't, because, that
triggered his turning point.
SEGUN : so my dear, Made may have been the most irresponsible being
you ever knew, but that was then, not any more.
BISADE : I mean, he left everything to start all over...Everything!
His car, the house, even the job I offered him here. He wanted to
struggle, know how difficult it is to earn a living...look my dear, he
suffered under the sun, walking around markets looking for customers
in order to get that job. I offered to invest to meet up his target,
making it very easy for him, but he said declined.
BOLA : (surprised) really?
BISADE : yes. He struggled till he made it and that paid off. He's
their marketing manager today. Doing that as pretense is way too
ridiculous. I mean, I was the one that offered to invest, yet he
refused. If I had invested in that company, it would have saved him a
lot of stress.
SEGUN : if you ask me, I'd say this Femi is up to no good. Why should
he tarnish someone else's image?
BISADE : he will hear from me!
BOLA : Dad, Made said you know he's in love with me....
BISADE : yes
BOLA : how did you get to know?
BISADE : he was in the living room talking to a friend on the phone.
He didn't know that I was coming around. I heard everything he said,
he didn't know I heard him.
BOLA : can you remember exactly what he said Dad?
BISADE : haa,...I can't really remember...let me see...(Trying to
recall)...I think he said something like....I've told Dad several
times to tell her we're not related but he refused, if only I can stop
feeling this way about her....... or something like that....I can't
remember jare....
BOLA : oh....(Becoming very sober)
BISADE : (looking at Bola)...so will you now tell me why you're asking
all these questions?
SEGUN : (winks at Bisade not to ask)....Bola....do you need to talk to
Made or you need time to think?
BOLA : (suddenly she remembers that Made is still outside)...oh...I've
got to talk to him first then I'll get back to you....(Looks at both
of them) some other time....(Leaves)
SEGUN : okay o...(Turns to Bisade)
BISADE : so are you going to tell me exactly what is going on? I mean,
enough of the mystery.
SEGUN : Bisade, with the way Bola reacted with the issue of that girl,
what do you think?
BISADE : ....may be she's just jealous that someone else wanted to
take up Made's time.
SEGUN : and asking about Made being in love with her for real or not?
BISADE : (gives it a thought)....wait a minute, could it be true that
Bola is in love with Made?
SEGUN : you better get ready for that.
BISADE : but....
SEGUN : (cuts in)....but what? If Made is the one that will make her
happy, won't you allow her be with him? Or you want to match make her
with a man she'll be unhappy with?
BISADE : oh...just when I thought I'd have grandchildren from both sides...
SEGUN : (laughing)...oh I see...and if God says it can only be from
both of them?
BISADE : that's not fair.
SEGUN : Bisade, may be God brought Made to you just because that's the
only way Bola can know the man that will make her happy...I mean, look
at the way they play together at home, can't you see it signifies the
kind of home they will have. A home full of laughter and happiness...
Look, for my children's marriage, what I pray for, is a spouse that
will love them more than anything. The kind of love that can
overshadow any kind of weakness they have. You should bother yourself
about your daughter being happy in marriage.
BISADE : (thinking about it) you are right....
SEGUN : good...
BISADE : thanks for everything, Segun.
SEGUN : (smiles)...you're welcome...so how's business?.....
